Membership

The Veterans Advisory Board shall consist of 12 members. Each shall be at least 18 years old; a resident of the City or work at or operate a business in the City; an honorably discharged Veteran of the U.S. Military or be a person of first degree of consanguinity or affinity to a deceased Veteran; and of good moral character. The Mayor and Commissioners shall each appoint two members to the Board. Each member may serve a maximum term of three years, but in no case shall the term of any Board member exceed the term of office of the Mayor or Commissioner making the appointment. The City Manager shall appoint a city employee as an ex-officio member to the Board with no voting privileges.

Responsibilities

The Veterans Advisory Board was created to advise the City Commission on the needs of local Veterans, the resources available to local Veterans, and programs that could benefit the needs of local Veterans and their families.
