Keep Harlingen Beautiful is a volunteer organization founded in 1990 by a group of concerned citizens. The purpose of the organization is to empower and educate the community to clean and beautify the environment and to recycle. Harlingen Proud leadership consists of an 18-member Board of Directors that is appointed by the City Commission and one part-time staff person. Keep Harlingen Beautiful works very closely with the City of Harlingen is all areas of beautification, recycling, graffiti abatement, litter prevention, illegal dumping issues and education.
