Parks & Recreation

Public Services Administration provides general supervision and guidance to include long-range planning and budgeting services for the City's parks, cemetery, recreation, swimming pools, tennis, and tourism.

Advisory Board

The Public Service Department provides staff support to an advisory board made up of citizens appointed by the City Commission to advise staff on the services, programming, budget, and policies of the sub-departments.

Should a citizen wish to present a concern or request to our board, please contact the Public Services office no later than one week prior to the scheduled meeting date. Board meetings are held at the Parks and Recreation office, at 502 E. Tyler, on the following schedule:

Class Registration

• Register at the Parks and Recreation office Monday through Friday from 8AM to 5PM
• We allow payments of cash, card, and check; please make checks payable to the City of Harlingen.
