* Each board member continues to serve until they get reappointed or a new appointee is made once their term is expired.

The Civil Service Commission for police officers and fire fighters shall consist of three members appointed by the Mayor with each appointment confirmed by the City Commission. The term for each member shall be three years, or until a successor is appointed, confirmed and qualified. Each year, one member shall be appointed.

The Civil Service Commission shall have such powers and duties as are provided in the State Civil Service law.
