The Harlingen Animal Shelter provides compassionate care for animals brought in by concerned citizens, as well as those identified as strays or found roaming the city. Our commitment to their welfare includes a mandatory minimum holding period of 72 hours (three days) before adoption applications from the community are accepted. This grace period allows potential owners the opportunity to reclaim their beloved pets. We invite the community to visit our shelter and meet the cats and dogs under our care.
